Muprocin/Bactroban or Manuka Honey instead

Has anyone ever used Muprocin Ointment (Bactroban) without any issues? I may need to use it for my nose and am terrified. I had bad allergies and then it got super raw inside with a few sores on the outside and I am scared it may me nasal vestibulitis and may need the Muprocin ointment, but a setback terrifies me and I had amazing luck recently using Manuka Honey to heal a wound. I have an ent appt in 2 days and am so scared.

I’m a little over 10 months out.

Thanks!

Bactroban ointment isn't systemically absorbed so you should be ok. I used it with no issues and i am super sensitive to most meds etc.

And you have both used it in withdrawal? I may need to use it in my nose. I had bad allergies and was blowing a lot and may have nasal vestibulitis but have been using my Manuka and a little neosporin, but if at my appt tomorrow he mentions it I would obviously rather chance that versus an antibiotic. Antibiotics in this are my biggest fear! I’m 10 months out and we have our week summer vacation with our son in a few weeks and the heck if it will get ruined! I need this with my family even if I don’t feel wonderful!

Yes i used it in wd, about 11 months off. I'd had a massive setback from an AB which didn't even help with the infection (in my toe nail bed) and so when the problem came back i was terrified but i went to a foot specialist who gave me the bactroban because it wouldn't be systemically absorbed and he was right, it didn't make my sxs worse thank god. I'm sure you'll be ok, enjoy your holiday!
