Hydroxyzine HCL?

Does anyone have any experience with hydroxyzine HCL? I was prescribed it when I got out of detox and failed a cold taper. I remember it helping me sleep, and since I've been having a really hard time lately grasping the end is near, I started doing research. It's an antihistamine/anxiety medication. It apparently has no risk for chemical dependancy. Has anyone ever taken this, and do you think it will help me initially with ending my taper? Calling the detox tomorrow to see if I can get any referrals to a GP so I can have it prescribed. It's apparently used to help people during opiate withdrawal.

I took it for years without issue.  It is basically a very strong antihistamine, and is probably tolerated a lot better than other psych drugs.  While a few people do have issues with it, many others have found it very helpful for anxiety or sleep.  (some didn't have a setback, but also didn't find it helpful).

It helped me a lot while it worked.
