[...]
so what do people do for they insane amount of anxiety after getting off these meds? especially if one was on Ativan for anxiety? there's only so much breathing, diet, meditation, counselling a person can do before the towel is thrown in and other meds have to be tried. I suppose a 12 year anxiety disorder goes away all on its own with "time"?? do people just suffer years and years with anxiety in hopes it goes away? ive been off for a year and still cant function, still cant go places, do fun things with my kids, work, socialise, yet I could do all this while on the med. so what have you all done for your anxiety? mine is so bad im in a dp/dr wave all day, complete fuzzy fog, irritable. [Ap...]
At 13 months, I've been getting a bit frustrated/anxious lately. If you're doing all the right things, it just means you're still on the mend. We have to be patient and trust the process. You've got a year behind you now so that's a big something to be grateful for. Keep the faith and think positive thoughts. You're not alone! [Ni...]
My anxiety improved a bit after the acute phase. I did everything to reduce stress these past 3.5 years like putting off important things and that has led me into serious problems causing lots of stress. Post-benzo i can't deal with stress and as a result i broke down again a few weeks ago. My generalized anxiety disorder and panic disorder and depression is now worse than ever so just started sertraline, a SSRI.

[...]
Try taking L’theanine. You can get it in decaffeinated black tea or just buy it in pill form. It reduces my anxiety.

[De...]
I have hypnosis from a Christian GP when in a rough patch. I've thought about seeing a hypnotherapist for my anxiety and am curious to know how well it works for you. How would you rate its effectiveness on a scale of 1 to 10 and how long does it help after a treatment(s)? Any info will be appreciated.
[Fo...]
Dear Depibs Christian hypnosis sits well with me because I know the hypnosis is based on a desire to rationalise my fearful thoughts safely in a state of extreme relaxation. In some ways it’s a quick fix for fear, in others it helps me deal with trauma day by day by putting myself into deep relaxation My hypnotist is a doctor with a huge knowledge of drug withdrawal and he’s known me 35 years. His desire for me to be well and able to cope with the grief is really reassuring. But it’s about Equipping myself to cope with fear. I have just woken from REM sleep at 4 am and I was desperately looking for my wife. It took a full 5 mins to realise she has gone and get up and make tea and hug the dog. After answering your post I know I can simply put the fear into God’s hands and get back to sleep using self hypnosis. I hope that answers your question. Withdrawal heightens fears so much that removing that firmly but gently too is a way of healing. Yours Dickie
