Is anyone doing the BrassMonkey Slide Taper Method?

Hello

Curious if anyone here is doing the BrassMonkey taper method?

It’s a 10%/month taper, broken into 4 weeks (2.5% each week), with a 2 week hold after.

Some people do less than 10 percent

Please let me know if you are, I would like to ask a few questions.

Thanks.

I’ll attach the link.

Hey!

So you’re doing 2% a week. So if I have this right, does that equal about 8% every 6 weeks (including the 2 week hold)?

Did you try the 10% and it was too much?

And have you noticed the 2 week hold is needed? Is it that much of a help to hold those 2 weeks and give the brain a chance to heal?

Thanks!

yes you're correct but i do two different Brass Monkey Slide Microtapers, the one for seroquel/quetiapine is the 2.5% per week, and the other is 2% per week for gabapentin. i can't really give you an answer on the rate being too fast though because i am on 3 meds at the same time and currently tapering from 2. everyone has a unique signature or medical history, and not to mention unique reaction and metabolism etc to drugs and other aspects that factor into how fast or slow a taper rate and how often you will need to take breaks of HOLD at a certain dose. even getting sick or eating a different diet or even one food can throw everything off and you may need to reschedule many times. but don't worry cause that's how it works, everyone' responds differently.

just satrt slow, if you get SX's, stay at the current dose until you stabilize, then go slower or resume at the same rate. listen to your body SX's and let them be your guide.
