Gabapentin

Vestibular migraines started when I cut benzos a year ago.

They’ve been getting worse recently.

I’m paranoid the gabapentin is causing it.

Do we get more sensitive to other drugs when we detox benzos? Or is this Benzo withdrawal and the gaba is actually lessening it?

(Been on gaba for 5 years and never had this until I quit benzos)

We are all different, but gabapentin was terrible for me. If you decide not to take it anymore, be sure to taper correctly and over the needed period of time.

I took it for twenty some days for nerve pain due to a hand injury, I took 900 milligrams daily.

It didn’t help the pain so I decided to stop taking it and did not taper properly. At that time I was on .25 Xanax daily. Two days after stopping the gabapentin, I was hit with an anxiety that I had never experienced and a deep depression. In order to manage both, plus the nerve pain the Xanax was increased for months to .75 milligrams a day. It was very hard to get out of this situation.

So, that’s why I recommended to carefully taper from gabapentin.

I haven’t experienced depression or anxiety, just vertigo. I get vertigo if I take it and vertigo if I don’t.
