Flushing face and neck without anxiety?

Does anyone ever have their face and neck turn bright red and a feeling of heat occasionally for no apparent reason?

I am a 54 year old man, so I doubt that I am going through menopause.  When this happens, I look like a woman my age having a hot flash.  Every so often my face and neck will turn very red and I can feel the heat coming off of my skin.  There is no pattern or triggers to this situation, it can happen at any time and is very uncomfortable.  It last from a few minutes to an hour and then, POOF, it's gone and mat not return for weeks.  No other sx such as anxiety or anything else that would make me uncomfortable or embarrassed to cause this.. 

Could this be just another benzo symptom? 

If I have posted this in the wrong place, please tell me where I should post it.  But most of all, has anyone else experienced this?
