Friends who try to educate you

I’ve been off valium for a month. A well-meaning friend is now attempting to educate me about the dangers of benzos and what they do in my body, as though I don’t know anything about it and haven’t assiduously researched the topic. Clueless, insulting behavior. I don’t need educating by someone who doesn’t know squat about the subject.

Wait, it sounds like you and your friend are on the same side, no? 

Yes, we are on the same side. However, sending me bullshit baby step articles after my successful two year taper and discounting what it took me to get through it is just insulting. I attempted to communicate the horrors of taper to my friend throughout. I was met with silence. Even dear friends can be clueless about benzo world. I’m just venting.
