Ativan to oxazepam

Hi there,

I am currently going through a withdrawal where they switched me from 2 mg of ativan to 10 mg of oxazepam. I am wondering if anyone else has switched from ativan to another drug and if they think it has made their withdrawal any easier? I find that my withdrawal this time is just as bad as last time, if not worse.

Any information would be great.

I think from your other post we know that the reduction was much too fast -hence your pain. Oxazepam is a 4 x a day drug in my humble opinion.

you should have been offered 10mg 4 x a day and then done your taper.

Thank you for the information! I have a meeting tomorrow with my doctors so i will ask them about it. That kind of troubles me though because I am tapering off in a clinic and that is what they did.

Regardless, I had no idea that it was suppose to be given like that so i will question them about it tomorrow.

Just Read the whole of the Professor Ashton manual--its all the ammo you need. Remind them of the short half life of oxazepam-)

Print off the half lives and equivalent switches if necessary!
