Olanzapine - coming off after one month

Has anyone had experience coming off Olanzapine after short term use? I’ve been on it for one month (to take the edge off anxiety), 2.5mg in the morning and 2.5mg at night. Now the Psychiatrist who put me on it has decided to take me off it and told me to just stop the morning dose for now.

I’m hoping that won’t be too fast, a 50% cut... but I have only been on it for a month (though I don’t know if that makes much difference).

I think I would struggle to cut the tablets in half, let alone any smaller though, given they are pretty small tablets.

It's definitely possible to have withdrawal effects. It is a major tranquilizer after all and has a large effect at a variety of receptor sites. All neurotransmitter drugs should be tapered, otherwise you do risk shocking your system unnecessarily. I would taper just to be safe. It doesn't have to be a long one.
