The average Joe would probably be appalled with the truth about prescription drugs if they knew. Unfortunately it usually takes something like what we have been through to wake people up.

Very, very pleased they're now finally going after individual executives and doctors.  IMO, this is the only way to affect change, the individuals won't be nearly so happy to write it off as "the cost of doing business" as do the huge corporations.

This case is similar to the Sackler family (Purdue Pharma) case and is related to benzodiazepines in that Arthur Sackler and others used "Direct to Physician" marketing tactics which are still being utilized by Purdue Pharma and other companies:

In all the replies I found not one objection to the presence of that post in the News section.

 

Those examples come from just a very quick scan of the first page of the News section. Anyone who cared to spend the time would find scores of other stories about Big Pharma, alcohol, antidepressants, and other things only indirectly related to benzos, but still of interest to us, and still in the news.
