Depakote

Does depakote help with nerve pain?  I have nerve pain in my face, legs and tongue.  My doc also thinks I'm very sensitive and could have a seizure while coming off Valium 

Anyone?

That’s what I thought. He was discussing depakote as a way to increase gaba. Eye roll.

big yes to gabapentin. also reduces the risk of seizures. hope things work out for you!

I took depakote for a around ten years. I got off of it because of side effects. I was then put on topamax for another 20 years. I took this because of a few seizures  I had when  I was a teenager. I am now tapering this siezure medication and it has been hell wrapped inside a nightmare.

 

I wouldnt not take something like depakote unless you really really have too. some of these medicines cause nerve pain and auto immune disease when taken long term. But the doctors dont tell you that.
