[Ri...]
Can anyone relate? I have gained about 17 kilograms since July 2016 when I started taking 7.5mg Remeron every night. My diet is the same it used to be before starting this drug. I have been doing Intermittent Fasting for about a year now. Basically I go for 55 minutes walks every day, I have managed to drop the Remeron down to 3.6 mg for about a year. I have tapered my Valium my dose is 2.5 mg total, I don't have sleeping problems only temporary Interrupted sleep sometimes but I have GI problems. I went to my GP I was ignored after expanding my situation regarding my weight issues. It seems my wight has still increased a lot, I have no idea what to do. No way to find another doctor, this is a socialist country Canada, you are not allowed to talk over the phone to "your doctor". I guess as long as I am on these drugs I will keep gaining weight.... I am 54 6'3" tall and 121 kg Please help me out! I am scared...
[...]
Weight gain is a documented side effect of Remeron.

[ea...]
To my knowledge, weight gain can happen with many SSRIs. I wouldn't take one if I was PAID to! I think they are useless drugs designed only to make money for someone. Interesting...most people who get off benzos have weight loss. I sure did. May I ask where you are in your taper, or are you already OFF benzos??? Whatever the answer, try not to be scared of this temporary weight gain. I used to be obese. REALLY big. I had weight loss surgery many years ago and now have the opposite problem. I find it very hard to maintain a normal weight, and not be too thin. When I was on benzos my weight dropped so low I looked like a stick with breasts. I could encircle my upper thigh with one hand, for heavens sake. I have been off benzos over 6.5 years now and now weigh a more healthy 115. I am 5'4". Still too skinny but not unsafely so. Once you are really off benzos your weight will stabilize. Feel free to PM me if it would help you. Weight issues are something I have lived with all my life. east

I've gained weight since I started taking Remeron but now it's kind of leveling off. It's not easy but I try to be disciplined and not eat too much in the evening. What works for me is that I brush my teeth and then my cravings subside.
