Don't want to disrupt taper, which antibiotic is safest?

I apologize for a similar post in the Other Medications Forum. I make this post because the other one hasn't been viewed yet and I need some feedback quickly. I see my doctor for soon for a likely infection and would like to know if there are any antibiotics that are considered "safer". I know the Fluoroquinolone Antibiotics can be terrible because I was able to read that section of the forum.

Has anyone out there had luck with other antibiotics? Thank you so much for any guidance you can offer. Please forgive the urgency, I just don't want to experience some of the terrible things other members of this community have due to antibiotics.

I used amoxicillin on my taper for an ear infection and just recently a Z Pack (zithromycin) for a sinus infection. Neither one bothered me a bit.

I have never noticed a problem on the couple of occasions I have needed them.. Amoxy/clav is my usual, but its been a while..
