Here goes

I am joining this forum because I am currently tapering off of Lorazepam. I was prescribed 2mg for insomnia 5 months ago and in the last month have tapered down to .75mg. I am maintaining at this dose now. I am looking for support and community through this process as it is a total nightmare.

We are glad to have you here in our community. You will get plenty of support from caring members. here.  Benzos need to be tapered slowly, reducing the dose by between 5% and 10% every 10 - 14 days is the general recommendation.    Some need to taper slower than this , the aim is to try to keep the symptoms as manageable as possible.

 

I would suggest you read The Ashton Manual, It is a great resource for understanding the effect benzo’s have on our body.  It provides Tapering and withdrawal information and includes a list of common symptoms 

 

You will find some very valuable support and information on the forum.  Our members are happy to share their personal experiences with you and support you.. Please feel free to browse the boards and post questions to any of the dedicated threads.
