Waking up feeling worse after a much needed nap!

Does anybody who is "able to sneak in a nap" going through insomnia, wake up feeling worse? My limited naps are very light and short and I seem to hear everything going on around me, even though I know I've fallen asleep for a brief moment? I used to relish/enjoy my Sat/Sunday afternoon naps and feel so refreshed after even 1/2 hr nap when my brain was normal. God I miss a restful nap once in while...

As sleep returns it will not be "normal."  It's something I like to call "the returning sleep paradox."  When you give your body what it desperately needs, you often wake up feeling worse than if you wouldn't have slept at all.  It happens to lots and lots of people as their sleep begins to return.  You are not broken or unique.  This will even out over time.  I can take nice refreshing naps now after not being able to for over a year.  I was right where you are now not too long ago.  It gets better!
