drug order of taper and other mysteries

The last attempted post of mine was replied to and the reply expressed surprise that my doctor would choose to taper out my diazepam before tackling the clonzepam. A different post mentioned a doctor being more difficult with substituting clonzepam with diazepam. The post also made note that I had to account for all the total benzos' mgs. for tapering. But, other posts mention differing strengths. Finally, I thought that the sites focus was exclusive to benzos; I also take effexor xr for anti depression but that bounces my hypomania so I'm on trileptal as a mood stabilizer. Is this extraneous information or does influence how I go about doing this? Replies, especially with embedded links to the correct page if I'm not saying what I should be saying somewhere else would be most appreciated.
