[go...]
I have a question for the science people out there. Even when I had a functioning brain science was not my strong point. I was reading a few articles about the ketogenic diet. This one had a line that made my eyes perk up. https://www.psychologytoday.com/gb/blog/evolutionary-psychiatry/201104/your-brain-ketones "Ketogenic diets seem to favor glutamate becoming GABA rather than aspartate". Now I'm guessing there is much more to it than that, but if that was the case would the Keto diet not be a lot more helpful and widespread in terms of being used to help with withdrawal? I'm guessing there is a reason why it isn't? What gives?

[Ma...]
If you can get away from carbs CT, you will likely be surprised at how much less you crave them. I sure was. Be ready to have a pretty heavy hit of no or low energy for a couple of weeks if you go CT concentrated sugar Sadly I slowly relapsed, but am revving up to try again. I found nut butters to be really helpful when I was craving sweets They can cause kidney stones if you are prone to them
[Cl...]
I am doing a low carb diet and am much more stable mood wise. Sugar/Carbs spike your glucose levels and it is like being on a roller coaster. This is a permanent diet and I believe good for your body. You can be as extreme as you want about it and some carbs are healthy (beans, sweet potato, etc.) and you will want to add them back into your diet eventually. https://www.perfectketo.com/full-ketogenic-diet-food-list/

Wow, I may have to do a little research and try that. Any relief is beneficial, especially if it's helping building your gaba receptors back . [Cl...]
By zero carb do you mean zero potatos etc as well as processed breads and pastas etc? Mostly meat, cheese, and eggs. Heavy cream, butter, oils, and nuts. Add berries and green veggies when you're at your desired weight. Keto recommends under 20g carbs. It is a very low carb, medium protein, high fat diet.
