[bl...]
Hi, Yesterday, I saw my NPP (nurse practitioner), and I told her I wanted to wean myself off clonazepam. I currently am on a dose of approximately .9 mg 3x daily. I showed her the Ashton Manual and she said "I'm familiar with her" and "Nobody does that in this country". ??? I then asked if I could substitute taper and she gave me a story about a woman who tried it but didn't succeed. So? I any case, I started this way today: .5 mg in the AM (probably too large of a jump, as I could feel the difference already) 1 mg in the late afternoon (that was OK) and 1 MG which I will take later at bedtime. I now have .5mg tabs which will make it easier for me to use my new pill cutter, and also go more slowly if I need to. Perhaps the decrease of .4 mg in the morning affected me too much and my body was telling me. I've been on clonazepam for almost 27 years, and I know it's going to be slow and steady. One of the reasons I decided to cut back in the AM was grogginess--unable to get moving. Perhaps I should cut my caffeine intake as well. I'm hoping to figure out a good two week taper to start with; I've made a chart, and write down when I've taken what.
