[ch...]
Have been halving 5 mg tablets and then chipping a tiny bit of each end for about 2 weeks because I thought scales were dicky. Feeling good. Got some gemini 20 ones now. 10x 5 mg tablets weigh 1.610 g, one pill = 0.161 g and once I halve and chip the half, the weight I get is 0.063. Jim Hawk, I entered this data into your program to try to gauge how much valium I am actually taking and it says I am now under 2 mg daily? Am I missing something? [Ji...]
Hi Chenka44 once I halve and chip the half, the weight I get is 0.063 With each tablet weighing 0.161 g, half of a tablet is 0.081 g. When it is 0.063 g that means you have scraped 0.018 mg (0.081 - 0.063) off the half. That corresponds to a reduction of 0.56 mg of benzo (0.018 / 0.161 * 5). So the current dose is 4.44 mg/day (5 - 0.56). Hope I answered your question. Edit: Please clarify Have been halving 5 mg tablets and then chipping a tiny bit of each end Does that mean that you chip both halves? If it was the case then the calculation must be adapted to: "That corresponds to a reduction of 1.12 mg of benzo (2 * 0.018 / 0.161 * 5). So the current dose is 3.88 mg/day (5 - 1.12)." [ch...]
Sorry, I meant I am only using one half a day, minus the scrape, so less than 2.5 mg
[Ji...]
Hi chenka44 I am only using one half a day, minus the scrape So your current dose is 1.94 mg/day (2.5 - 0.56).
[ch...]
Thanks Jim Hawk. Could you please give me the formula you use to calculate actual valium dose from weight please. I am attempting to cut from 0.063 to 0.058. Can you please tell me what percentage that is?
[Ji...]
Hi chenka44 By cutting 0.063 to 0.058 you tapered 0.005 mg (0.063 - 0.058) off the tablet. That corresponds to a reduction of 8% (0.005 / 0.063 * 100). Hope I answered your question.
[ch...]
Thanks for your quick reply Jim. Any idea how I should proceed at this moment?. I must drive 1.500 k's in the next 2 days and will not be home for 7 days after that. I need to be stable. What would you do in my situation?. I know everyone is different bu given my guesstimates at my doses( hate those scales) I think my best plan is to go back to chip both ends of half a 5 mg, which is where I was last stable.
