do they still prescribe barbiturates?

Just curious.

Yes.  While on benzos through early withdrawal, I suffered horrible migraines.  Was prescribed butal-acet-caff (a.k.a. Fioricet).  Neurologist never even told me the butal was butalbital which is a barbiturate.  Another doctor did luckily, and I got off asap.  Was also administered phenobarbital for a 10 day detox.  Phenobarbital is also a barbiturate.  Other than those, I have no personal knowledge.
