I vomit every day, many times a day. I cannot eat. I cannot taste food. I force myself to eat, but my stomach feels like there is a monster sitting inside of it. I am nauseated, in pain, in constant terror caused by food or by lack of food.
I want this torture to end already. It's only getting worse.

Hi Guys...

Thanks Soly,

I have been in a similar situation, Just that it was damage caused by other medications...
I went through the medical roller coaster with no luck... Much time in hospital specific to this, but no one mentioned opiates or antibiotics...

My Peristalsis had stopped, My upper [...] (small intest.) had become spastic..

Prucalopride was mentioned in a ncbi paper for treatment and re-regulation of peristalsis...
It was a huge help, but could only tolerate 1/4 dose...
3months (the longest trial time I could find), and the tide turned.. I repeated a year later when things went backwards at the start of my V taper...
This plus TIME, and a sorta friendly diet..
-aspects of my situation wont apply to benzo WD, but im sure plenty will be adaptable for some..

I am doing so much better now, but [...] and abdo cramping are still what guides my taper...
I never had any stomach issues like nausea until recently (big % cuts) nor reflux... Though they medicated heavily for this...
Laxatives made it worse, still no functional transit...
Slowly I found my way, and If I can come back from that without a "bag", You all will get there too...

For those with nausea, my heart goes out to you...

All the best..

I will keep you all in my prayers. The suffering we are going through with [...] issues is just so unbearable many times. I am very close to going to the hospital, but I am holding. I haven't talked to my doc yet. I [...] I do today because I need some tests. I had to eat puree food yesterday; I was okay during the day, but at night, I thought I was going to die and ready to give up. I worked so hard to get off the benzo, I don't want to reinstate :-[ :-[ :-[

I slept a few hours, and I have to work today (not al day thank God). I am losing so much weight, my pants are falling off me. I am trying very hard not to despair.

Peace and Love!

I see your signature that you were on mirt and cold turkeyed it. I take it to help with nausea. Did it help you? Maybe a low dose would help?

I am much better in the tummy since I started making sure I have a "regular" meal, with meat, starch and say 4 oz of spinach, or a large can of beets etc once a day. When I don't do this, and have a lot of bread for instance, I can still get the stomach terrors, but they are less intrusive.

I actually never had depression until Mirt. I had anxiety and was sad occasionally, but never dysphoric or persistently depressed. I became so depressed on Mirt that I had to CT to save my life. It also caused a bunch of health issues. I also didn't have insomnia or RLS until Mirt. It did help with nausea and eating though.

Hello:

I went to the functional medicine doc and wants me to reinstate the omeprazole at 20mg until I see a [...] specialist for more testing. I [...] this time works better. I am in pain and I am going insane to figure out what can I eat. Even oatmeal makes me sick now :( She suggested I followed a FODMAP diet. Is anyone on this type of diet?

Thanks for your insights and sharing your experiences. Hopefully we can get through this ordeal with our encouragement. Well, since last night I have been doing some research on the FODMAP diet since my doc feels the w/d has given me full blown IBS. I had always suffered with constipation, but with some intake of fiber and water I was okay. This time the bloating is a 'killer' which I had never experienced before in such degree before. I came across a video "Beat the Bloat" which I would like to share because I have found it extremely helpful and an eyeopener. I have realized I have been eating and combining so many foods that have been contributing to the bloating and pain (this video is worthwhile watching it):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ByszVbFBPtY&t=1863s

Anyway, tomorrow I see my [...] to requests some testing like a colonoscopy. My functional doc wants me to have this to flush out everything and start with a probiotic and rebuild the gut microbiodome.

As far as the diet is concerned, my breakfast consisted of just three egg whites with zucchini and spinach and some soda crackers. Very minimal bloating that is bearable. I am taking some [...] supplements like Iberogast for motility and RepairVite to sooth the [...], it has some DGL in it and L-glutamine. I will give this diet my best and see what happens. The doc in the video warns that this type of diet is to be tried for only short periods of time because it may  aggravate constipation and vitamin deficiencies, like Vit. A. He also debunks the myth of going gluten-free and give great information on how the [...] system works when one has 'visceral hypersensitivity' which is what happens to some people in withdrawal. I was able to sleep some last night without pain after I had some almond milk with crackers, yeah! So I am hopeful.

Wish you all a blessed and good weekend!

I did try a fodmap diet but it did not help me.
