[Be...]
Hello all, I among 4x5mg oxazepam day. What would be the best way to cross over to valium? Thanks for help
Guest [ou...]
Switching to diazepam is a smart choice and should be easy, since oxazepam is one of its metabolites. Oxazepam 20mg is approximately equivalent to 10mg diazepam, so you could substitute each dose with 2.5mg diazepam every week. Then you could reduce your dosage by 1mg every 2 weeks. Below is a withdrawal schedule you could consider. Morning Midday Afternoon Night Stage 00 5mg 5mg 5mg 5mg Stage 01 5mg 5mg 5mg 2.5mg Stage 02 5mg 2.5mg 5mg 2.5mg Stage 03 5mg 2.5mg 2.5mg 2.5mg Stage 04 2.5mg 2.5mg 2.5mg 2.5mg Stage 05 2.5mg 1mg 2.5mg 3mg Stage 06 2.5mg - 2.5mg 3mg Stage 07 2.5mg - 1mg 3.5mg Stage 08 1mg - 1mg 4mg Stage 09 1mg - - 4mg Stage 10 - - - 4mg Day-time doses are gradually phased out because diazepam is long-acting. After Stage 10 you could continue reducing your dose by 0.5-1mg every 2 weeks. Hope this helps.
[Be...]
Thank you very much. I see in the last stage diaz is raised to 4mg. Thats to avoid sleep issues até final stage right?
[za...]
Just curious, is that hard to reduce the oxazepam by cutting the pill? or using a scale? I am thinking that maybe going from 95 mg to 20 mg in 3 months was too fast?? Going back to the dosage you felt better and reducing it very slowly 5% every month would be another option? [Ju...]
I followed outis's plan up through stage four, but then it looks like a fairly rapid reduction from there. In general, with a substitution and taper plan I wouldnt try to write out the whole thing from start to finish. You take the first step, see how you feel and go from there. From your sig it looks like you havent been on benzos long. That makes me second zack's question- how about a direct taper from oxazepam? JKS

As the day-time doses are phased out, part of them is diverted to the night dose, because diazepam can be rather hypnotic.

[Ro...]
Sorry you are suffering,it is a tough jouney! I did a dry taper from oxazepam. I used a sharpe knife or razor. Make it smaller and smaller..... First the morning dose a tiny bit, than the afternoon, than evening dose. Again a tiny bit off morning dose, afternoon, than evening dose, Again and again and again.. I left only crumbles. Then I skipped the morning dose, than the afternoon and I then I jumped To be honest it was hard, but I did it. Maybe this information is helpfull for you. ( sorry, english is not my own languase) I wish you all the best, Roosje🌷

[Ro...]
Hello Benzssri At first I had about 50 mg. I did some large cuts, somethimes I updosed, many times. No clue about good tappering. I found Ashton and BB then I started slow and steady. My dose was 3x10 Mg .I felt very sick because of interdosis and tolerance from zolpidem and also interdosis from oxezapam. A mess... But I started to wean myself off, first oxazepam (than zolpidem) Made a Very small cut every week, sometimes a few days. Sometimes I hold longer But I never updosed. I really did it "my way". To be honest, for me it was very hard, But I was kindled many times. Also so sick from the zolpidem for years. NOboddy know what was wrong with me. I am glad I did it. Still many symptoms, But now I know I am recovering......! I hope you find "your way" and wish you all the best. Blessings Roosje🌷
