For me, insomnia is not being able to turn off my brain due to withdrawal induced anxiety.

 

For me, sleep has improved greatly using Chamomile tea and an aspirin just before bed and then fall asleep by listening to "guided meditations" on YouTube to make myself STOP THINKING.

 

I later found it to be much better to take Chamomile Extract so I don't pee all night - here is a link for what I buy.  I take 1/2 pill.

To summarize my sleep help:

Use Chamomile Extract and an aspirin before bed.

While in bed, I stop myself thinking each night by using YouTube guided meditations.  I set my TV to turn off automatically.  Here are some good ones:

 

I have had some luck using Lunesta (non-benzo) but only for emergencies.

Thanks for link to 2nd video, had not seen that one!

 

Yes, Lunesta I believe much like an Ambien, but Lunesta never did anything for me.  Ambien, yes, helps but is a z-drug.
