8 months out I'm finally off them.

Im 8 months out after 21 years on diazepam ive had interdose withdrawals the majority of my time on them but my mental and physical health deteriorated over the years to the point where I'm mentally broken, but I think i had a small window when I was 4 months off I was pretty much symptom free for a few hours but nothing since, but I'm trying to be positive I've read a few success stories from people who have recovered from long term use so there's hope.

I hope you can stay the course - you invested so much.  I imagine you might take a little longer than others to stabilize - you were on them for so long and if you "quickly" tapered, that can make recovery seem to last longer too.
