How to get medicine out of mortar and pestle

I crushed my medicine up today in my granite mortar and pestle but it got stuck to the sides and I couldn't get it out. I tries washing it out with the milk but it just clumped up. How do you get it out?

Scrape it directly into your milk suspension. Once you mix the batch &the  medication is dispersed in liquid evenly then try to rinse out the vessel with the milk suspension.
