CROSSOVER .25 MG ATIVAN TO 2.5 MG VALIUM?

I am finally giving in and thinking about doing a crossover to valium. Of course, I am a bit skeptical because it may or may not increase a depression that was there before but I am left with little choices. Will this amount of valium cover me? If so, can anyone help with crossover schedule and directions as to how to do the cut by pill cutting?

1. The recommended conversion ratio is 10:1 so this amount should cover you.

2. I wouldn't drag the withdrawal too long as you're a low dose short-term user.

 

That said I'd convert the full amount in a single step and wait a week.

Then you could reduce your dose in 0.5mg decrements every couple weeks.

Quarter the 2mg tabs to obtain 0.5mg doses.

I’m usually a fan of crossing over, but in your case, short term use- I wonder if just slowing down a bit would help you. You are at a low dose and maybe there are other things you could try to help with your direct taper. Have you posted on the Ativan support group?

The reason my Pdoc suggested it is becuase I was already depressed going in and had a lot of witthdralw symptoms.
