clonazepam shorts/Canada/Valium cross over question!!

Due to Clonazepam shortages in Canada ugh my PDoc says if can't get any when the time comes for refills a one time cross over from .375 Clonazepam to 7.5 mgs Valium is what would happen....is this too fast shouldn't it be done in steps....still stabilizing from issues and don't want any more unnecessary problems and I do have a sensitive system. I don't plan on tapering again any time soon!!  Thoughts and thank you!  :-)

If you get a prescription for 2 mg valium pills you can do it in stages, just to make it a bit gentler on you. I would approximate 0.125 K to 2 mg or 2.5 mg V, since that is probably the most manageable with the pills you have. Since you know you are targeting 7.5 mg you can adjust a little as you go. I would do it with 1-2 week breaks in between e.g.

First step: 0.25 mg K and 2 mg V (or 2.5 mg V if you need it)

Second step: 0.125 mg K and 4 mg V (or 5 mg V if you need it)

Third step: 0 mg K and 6-7.5 mg V. You might not need the full 7.5 mg V and this way you can adjust as you go. Does that make sense?
