need HELP titration taper plan .25mg klonopin

Started om .5mg now down to .25mg klonopin

need daily taper plan help.

 

1) How many times a day do you dose? I will split the doses up as needed.

2) How fast do you want to reduce? 100days

3) Preferred solvents &/or carriers for preparing a suspension or a solution IE: milk, alcohol, pg, ora-plus? will use water or milk.

4) How many mg are your tablets? My tablets are .5mg

5) What method do you prefer? Daily microtaper or cut & hold? Will do daily taper..

6) Are you having interdose withdrawals? Yes will split doses up accordingly.

 

Currently at .25mg

wish to decrease by  this example.

25mg to  24.75

24.75 to 24.50

24.50 to 24.25

24.25 to 24

 

need to know how much to take out of 100ml for 24.75

and so forth...

Try 10%/14 days

 

3) Preferred solvents &/or carriers for preparing a suspension or a solution IE: milk, alcohol, pg, ora-plus? will use water or milk.

 

Vodka or PG are probably best.  But K is NOT water-soluble, so plain water is NOT an option.

 

4) How many mg are your tablets? My tablets are .5mg

Daily taper is much more tolerable

 

6) Are you having interdose withdrawals? Yes will split doses up accordingly.

 

Because of its long half-life, interdose WD should not be an issue with K

To reduce from .25mg to 0mg in 100 days you need to reduce .0025 mg per day. If you make a 100ml suspension with .25mg Klonopin each 1ml will contain .0025mg Klonopin

 

This plan may be to fast. If you start experiencing unbearable symptoms you may have to change the daily amount reduced. Also water is not an option unless you use a solvent.

 

Taper plan using whole milk will look like this:

1) Crush 1- .25mg tablet Klonopin

2) Measure out 100ml of whole milk put into suitable glass jar with lid

3) Put  crushed .25mg tablet into glass jar with the measured out 100ml of whole milk. Shake vigourously.

 

Taper plan using solvent & water will look like this:

1) Measure out 2ml of ethanol & put in suitable container

2) Crush 1- .25mg tablet Klonopin & put in with the 2ml of ethanol till dissolved shake

3) Measure out 98ml of distilled water & put into jar with ethanol & Klonopin shake vigorously before using

Hi,  I think your correct t might be going to fast, however I plan to hold 10 to 14 days after each 10% decrease from the previous dose reduction of 10%. I hope this works for me.
