How to taper klonopin?

need help from benzobuddies because I'm fairly new to this

I've been struggling findings doctor to help me get off of benzos. Reason is they were obtained illegalIy to help quit subboxone, and I got hooked on benzos(8months ago by accident.) Very heavy use for 2-3 weeks then quit, and had withdrawal, so got back on benzos(as needed) 7 months later Was on 6mg xanax daily for all of January. When I ran out I got Valium because that's all I could find. I fought through 100mg diazepam per day for 4 days and had withdrawal the whole time. Then went 4 days CT. Even an ER visit they wouldn't give me benzos because they were obtained illegally. I have to see an addiction specialist, that's my only option. He wants to ween me fast at 1mg xanax per week...sounds horrible

*So I got 45 mg of klonopin and tried to do 1.5 today

-tremors, anxiety, palps, sweating, brain fog.

*upped to 4 today and felt alright, going to try 3 tomorrow because I want to even out on that. (I believe that's the equivalent of 6mg xanax)

*my main goal is to get down as far as possible, even if it's just a quarter my, by March 2 when I see him. I'm going to see if he will look at the Ashton Manual so he doesn't go so fast.

In the mean time, how would I taper 1mg klonopin pills? I don't have access to diazepam. And if I quarter the pills, .25 cuts seem big. As an added note, I have to take what I can get, so when K runs out I'll have to get xanax, and when xanax is out I can get Valium. Not sure how to taper when I'm constantly switching.

My main question is, how does a non Dr prescribed person successfully taper? Pretty desperate for help at this point, any feedback is appreciated.

Gosh, this sounds difficult. Do you live somewhere that you could access a  drug counsellor who might also be able to liaise with medical staff? Social worker or something? I see in your bio that your seeing an addiction specialist, so maybe worth printing off some of these great resources and providing to them which might help slow down your taper.

Do some more reading about the tapering, and the differencing of dosages from one B to the next.

I wish you well, you have a wonderful goal in sight, you just need the correct plan to get you there. I like to think one day this will be a distant memory.

I spoke with a social worker during my ER visit. She recommend inpatient, but I heard many on these boards say don't do inpatient. I found a new addiction specialist but I don't know his plan. February 26 is my appointment with the new Dr. I'm switching back to xanax tomorrow because I feel like I need too much kpin to feel normal. Even at 8-9mg I'm shaking. I think its from switching all the time I think. Idk. I'm hoping switching back to xanax until my appointment is the right move. If he wants to rapid taper I'll just have to do it. I'm out of options.
