INVESTIGATING POSSIBILITY OF ATIVAN TAPERING FROM .25MG TO VALIUM

Hi,

I was on .75mg since October 30....gotten down to .25mg and been holding for a month with nasty withdrawal symptoms.

Investigating possibility of tapering from .25 mg Ativan to Valium...

1. What is the recommended dosage of Valium to take? Ashton right now looks confusing.

2. Can anyone help with a possible taper schedule?

I crossed over from 1.5 mg Ativan and 5 mg Ambien to Valium several years ago and did a successful long taper off of it. I used the Ashton schedule and started at 15 mg. valium. I'm not sure but guessing that .25 Ativan might be equal to 5 mg. Valium or less. However.....I took 5 weeks to cross over following her instructions and not sure how it would work with your low dose of Ativan. I learned that it takes close to a month for Valium to be effective in the system. I hope someone else can tell you more. This information is just based on my past experience and how I used the schedule. I did a very slow taper.

My issue now is that I have become addicted to Ambien and have to find a way to taper off that!
