Inspiration from a fairytale

I wanted to post this picture for some time already. Believe it or not, it is from a children fairytale book, which my great-grandmother used to read me from. It was published in 1922.

The story is about a servant girl, who agrees to fulfil several tasks to save the soul of her employer’s wife. One of the tasks is to bring water from a spring in the deep forest at midnight. There are demons and monsters following her, screeching and howling. But nothing bad will happen to her, if she keeps walking and doesn’t look around.

The panic and anxiety feelings are like these demons and monsters. They won’t do any harm, if we don’t pay them attention. Easy it is not. But worth it.
