[ga...]
Has anyone tackled a Cymbalta taper after completing a benzo taper? Cymbalta is a nasty, rat-poison of an AD to taper and wondering what anyone's experience was with it. I have that to look forward to after finishing my valium taper. I cut to 2.15 mg valium tonight...am doing a daily liquid microtaper. I tried cutting my Cymbalta by 1.5 mg a month ago and lasted one day before going back to 48 mg. It was horrific and I was bedridden for several days. Took me 3 weeks to recover from that tiny, one-day cut. Granted, I was in benzodiazepine withdrawal, but I'm still shocked at how horrible such a small cut was. Makes me wonder how in the world I'll ever get off this stuff. [...]
Suggest you go to survivingantidepressants.org for all AD questions, you'll be in the best hands there. Good luck.

[sw...]
Garden Lady: Sorry to hear you are in the same boat as I. I finished my Klonopin taper 1-1/2 months ago and just started reading about Cymbalta. Just like the Klonopin, no one told me about any dangers of getting off. It seems that, although it is more complicated, that Cymbalta tapers "generally" go faster than the typical Benzo withdrawal. Also, some doctors now suggest getting off the Cymbalta first. But would love to hear your thoughts and hope you are having some joy as spring approaches. My 61st birthday is tomorrow. Tommy B
