[Re...]
I have iron overload and don't know what's causing it. My iron blood level is high and so is transferrin saturation %. Anyone else have this issue? I do not have the genetic mutations for hemochromatosis but could still have a non-genetic version of that. Is there anything else that can cause iron overload? One person suggested that taking testosterone supplements can raise iron levels for some people. I did take a testosterone cream for the first 6.5 months of my 8 month post benzo recovery period. Any ideas, experiences or information welcome.
[kl...]
I have high iron but am homozygous for the H63D mutation. My ferritin is 163. Iron Saturation was 54%. I am supposed to get phlebotomies done but have not scheduled it yet.
[Re...]
Thanks for sharing! My doctor referred me to a blood specialist. I was told that donating blood now and then is the best treatment. Not sure about the frequency needed. I’m sorry you have this issue too. It can cause a lot of health problems if left untreated. ♥️
