[ro...]
To whom it may concern, Well its been since December 19 2016 since I jumped off the Benzo train. Quit Cold Turkey The major physical detox symptoms lasted 3 months some lingering effects have been contact dermatitis and symmetrical itching After 14 years of 2+ mil. of Zanex per day Coming up on 2 years CLEAN A lot of things are coming back into focus. From my personal experience Now at age 59 I need to report that I had been mentally emotionally and sexually numb during the Benzo years I am pissed off that I missed out on a lot of reality, feelings and sex. Getting back to normal finally. To any newcomers It's bad at first but it's so much better when you can feel reality. To any old timers I broke on through to the other side. Much better here. [ro...]
Dear Fellow readers; I quit 1 mg. + Zanax per day for 15 years cold turkey on December 21 2015. It has been quite a journey I really don't want to go into the nasty details. Life is good now, my concept of reality is much less fuzzy. My long & short term memory has returned I can compartmentalize problems My relationship with my daughter is a lot better no more hiding with a chill pill. I have a great group of friends; With whom I travel and have fellowship with, We all have our tales of triumphs and tribulations. My wing dog named Rockitdawg is 8 years old now.He has been my stable Rock Unconditional love and companionship through this fog, To any one who is starting their recovery journey My advice is there is a true meaning to the physical realm in which we live, once you remove the clouds. Peace and love " pay it forward Bob Perkins AKA Rockitdawg

[ro...]
I'm sure all recoveries are different because all people and environments are different. The first 3 months were the worst It's like the recovery process is much like the addition process. with addiction it comes on slowly and after years of abuse it quite the project to get clean. the best I can say is that after 2 years of abstinence my " normal" thought process is coming back so are my interpersonal relationships my rationality my temperament All in all I am much clearer with my thought process. I am sure that my neuro receptors are firing and making much better connections I can't say that I am completely healed but I am feeling better and stronger each and every day. Good luck Mr. Rockitdawg AKA Bob Perkins
