Hello...finished 7 month crossover and taper from 1.75mg Xanax to 35mg Valium on Nov. 16, 2010.  Started Xanax (as needed/sleep) 17 years ago and it took like over 10 years before I realized somekind of dependence was happening and another 5-6 years before I began to run into real tolerance issues every 6-8 hours or so...had to address the problem.  At that time all I knew was that you needed to get off this shit kinda slow, well I tried to taper the Xanax, 1/2 mg at a time in 3-4 day intervals...eleven days later I was a MESS and I then started to research Benzo's and quickly learned I was doing it WRONG!

Guess I was lucky with my taper because after I stablized and started the taper off Valium I had few issues or problems untill I reached the once a day dose at around 3/4mg, even then the withdrawal symtoms were mild and not of real concern.   Finish Nov. 16, 2010, about a week later the W/D started, here I am.    Moses

Hello,

Welcome to benzo buddies.  Congrats on a successful completion of your crossover taper.  I think you will find the forum has many members who have successfully tapered off of their medication and many members still in the process of tapering the medication.  What symptoms are you still experiencing?
