[La...]
According to this study, zolpidem is "popular" with physicians and patients. Great. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28262178
[je...]
This does suck! I have Zolpidem and use it only when desperately looking for sleep which is not frequent. However, sincie I am only 5 months jumped, a dose of Zolpidem can make me feel crappy for a day or two. If anyone reading this is "hooked" on Zolpidem (Ambien), please note there are withdrawal effects regardless of the manufacturer's advertising. My husband was so hooked on Ambien that once he stopped it took him over a year to develop a natural sleep pattern. It's too bad these pharma companies are so greedy! [La...]
It appears that zolpidem is quite similar in its effect to the benzodiazepines: "The effects of zolpidem treatment on GABA(A) receptors in cultured cerebellar granule cells: changes in functional coupling": https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22564411 Anyone who is trying to get off benzodiazepines should also be avoiding the Z-drugs.
