The full title of this American study is "Sedative-Hypnotic Use Among Older Adults Participating in Anxiety Research".

 

It appears that many of those studied took benzodiazepines or sedatives for the wrong reasons. And as is always the case for the elderly, these medications are associated with many risks, e.g. cognitive impairment, falls and sedation.
