[La...]
The full title of this French study is "Retrospective study of the assessment and management of benzodiazepine withdrawal syndrome in hospital between 2000 and 2015". Please note that the translation of this abstract is a bit unclear at certain points, but one can generally understand what the researchers are stating. I'll include the bilingual abstract just below the English-only version, in case it helps to clarify some point for readers here. In the results section, there's a reference to "biological assessments" that "did not provide diagnostic support", which, to me, reflects what many of us have experienced. That is, tests came back normal, but patients still complained of certain symptoms -- particularly, "digestive, neurological and psychiatric". I believe that the concluding statement refers to human individuality in withdrawal experiences, but I'm not sure. Please weigh in with your thoughts on this one. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28017287 http://www.em-consulte.com/article/1098128/alertePM
