Mag, I'll send you a PM. The Gummi recipe also includes the recipe for making a tincture. Kinda too long to post here, I thought.

Sure, Luna. I'll send you a PM. It's a rather long explanation (but not a time-consuming process). I'll send it in a bit.

My medication specialist who has been helping with my benzo taper recommends a 1:1 CBD/THC ratio for symptoms. I have a medical cannabis card and my dispensary has pharmaceutical grade CBD and THC drops so there is no guessing with dosing. They are made by a company called Panaxia. I put the drops in a veggie capsule and swallow it. It stays in your system longer this way. Just start slow, there's good information about this from a site called Project CBD. :)

Hi Lanuaria

I have been tinkering with both 1:1 and 2:1 ratios.

Can you tells us the mg dosage of 1:1 you are using and your typical daily dosage schedule (time of day, quantity etc.).

Certain many will appreciate your input.

Cheers

I think names of strains vary by where you live; I've used a 1:1 called "Shark Shock" from the dispensary. I also have a complete CBD blend called "AC/DC," and one advantage of the 100% CBD is you can add a little or a lot to another (THC-dominant) strain, to play around with ratios.

I used CBD and med cannabis during my antidepressant taper; it helped me get through; now, however, with the benzo taper, I've not had success with flower but sometimes use pure CBD/hemp oil to get to sleep.

It's interesting, as I've had different pharmacists at the dispensary recommend different things for benzo withdrawal. Some recommend high CBD or 1:1 ratio. I had another recommend a high-THC indica strain (due to insomnia problems).

Did the high thc indica make withdrawal symptoms worse, even if a little cbd is added?

Since benzo withdrawal, no cannabis has really benefited me much. High THC/low THC/ different ratios of CBD, none of it helps me right now. I can't say it's had long-term bad effects, but it did increase my "weirdness in the head and nervous system" feelings for a few hours the days I've tried it. I wish I had it on the back burner to help soothe anxiety.  :(

Does anyone here recommends taking full spectrum CBD oil while tapering Valium?

My symptoms are sometimes hard while I am working with home office and now my tinnitus is louder (temporary, I hope) which gave me some difficulty to fall asleep yesterday.

I am 2 weeks at 1.25mg of Valium and I missed my dosage the day before yesterday. Is it a good idea to use CBD oil now during the taper? I read that CBD oil inhibits the valium metabolization but the nights are harder now with this nasty noise.

Don't know what to do. I hope that this noise goes away...

Has anyone here taken high dose CBD? I recently got my first bottle but it had no THC in it. I only had the bottle for 6 days. Started off slowly on day 1 but couldnt feel much affect so I thought it was useless and started taking a lot. A couple of nights ago I literally drank like a third of the bottle remaining just to be done with it. I'd get a bit of a nice feeling from it but not that noticeable.

Well last night I didn't have any cause I ran out but today I got up and I'm feeling fantastic. Usually I sprint to the coffee machine because I feel so bad when I get up in mornings. Today I've had no coffee at all and I feel awesome. Can this stuff actually cause fast healing?

Define 'high dose'.  Some bottles contain 300mg, some contain 2000, so it's difficult to know how much a third of a bottle is.

I wouldn't make any assessments based on one morning, but it would be interesting to hear your experiences going forward.

There was 500mg in the whole bottle. I just feel better in general since taking it for that week. I haven't had any for a few days now.

Hello,

Has anyone found CBD oil has irritated their throats? My wife has tried just a few drops in the last few days and is concerned she is having a reaction to it, but also she is cutting down and suffering lots of symptoms and is unsure if it might be that. Perhaps if others have experienced the same thing?

Thanks

I don't think CBD would be a likely culprit for that.

I once decided, after getting a rash from exposure to grass and getting hayfever a bit worse than usual, to see what benzo withdrawal does to histamine. Turns out diazepam suppresses histamine release when you take it chronically, so it makes sense that withdrawals could release a flood of histamine to lesser stimuli. Perhaps your wife has an allergy that is being dialled up because of the withdrawals?

CBD has what is called "reverse tolerance." Unlike benzos!  The more of it you dose, e.g., daily, the less you need, and your body reaches a baseline with it. With CBD, more is not better. Daily steady dosing is best.

Is vaping cbd oil helpful for getting back to sleep at night?

I would say it depends on whether or not CBD makes you feel sleepy and helps you with sleep. If so, then I would think so. Vaping is a fast method of delivery.

For me, Indica THC is more effective at that, so I vape it to get back to sleep.

I’ve never vaped, but I agree indica THC is the best for sleep. I eat a gummy with 5 mg THC and 1 mg CBN (not CBD) and it helps with sleep SO much.

How does the CBN feel to you?  I tried some a few months ago and it gave me a heavy feeling (on top of the typical THC feeling).  Not unpleasant, but it felt a bit mediciny.  Felt a bit like trozodone to me.  How's it feel for you compared with THC alone?

I’ve never taken trazodone, but CBN does make me feel a bit heavy, almost like time has slowed down a little.  THC kind of gives me a fuzzy feeling, especially in my face (regardless of delivery method).

Does the gummy affect withdrawal in any way? Where can you find gummies. I’m in Florida. We don’t have edibles yet.

You can make them yourself. I make mine with CBD that I order from a a dispensary in Florida -- they have the cheapest prices around. PM me if you want my "recipe".

I’m interested in Kits thc/cbn gummie for sleep. Cbd doesn’t help me much with sleep.

The gummy I have is made by a company called Kiva and is blueberry flavored. They’re based in California, so I don’t know that you’ll be able to get them in FL. The gummy has chamomile and lavender in it as well.

Kit, do you take it every night?

I don’t. I’ve read some studies that suggest using cannabis every day can actually worsen sleep, so I only use it when I really need to.

Hi group:

I ended my tiny experiement with low dose THC/CBD gummies many months ago. Personally, I do not think CBD, in particular, is a good augmentation "during" tapering.

And I will not indulge in any occassional cannabis use until well clear of my taper. And if so use strains with little to no CBD. Though CBD can be helpful to ameliorate the effects of overconsumption of THC. Neil Young's remedy has always been chewing black peppercorn which contains a host of calming terpenes.

Benzos affect Gaba A receptors. CBD also exerts influence over Gaba A receptors along with cannabinoid receptors. The science behind it can be found online.

Our goal in tapering is to repair these Gaba A receptors.

THC, on the other hand, affects Gaba B receptors and, of course, cannabinoid receptors. So, if one wants to use cannabis during taper to take the edge off or if helps with sleep a strain with little to no CBD would be best. In fact, most strains excepting those breed for high CBD content have virtually no CBD or a miniscule amount. Underground breeders long ago chose plants for propagation based on strength and bred out CBD content--we can thank the early Northern California breeders for that.

Hope I am not coming across as preachy. But, CBD has been hyped and studies show that the amount needed for anxiolytic effect is in the range of 300 to 600 mg--a prohibitive cost for most. 1000 mg of CBD crystalline runs on average around $50.00. In my opinion, the anecdotal reports of the benefits of modest doses of CBD are a placebo effect. Cannabis dispensaries are in the business of selling!

And yes, daily or long term use of medical and/or recreational cannabis without a "tolerance break" does have a negative effect on sleep architecture. Learning the hardway is no fun.

Cheers
