Love this forum! I’ve have just switched over to Valium completely and am going to tell my Dr. I want to go slow and pray I will be one who can write positive post too! So far so good! I am just very fatigued right  Now but without anxiety and all that and this was crossing over from klonopin. Keep the positivity coming! It sure does help!

Stay Strong, the fatigue will pass, do as you can, when you can. You just wrote a positive post . 💖 Peace and Healing. :smitten:

Thanks guys! We are in this together and let’s keep posting the good things that are happening while we are tapering! I drove to town and got my meds. By myself and usually get my husband to do it and went in a Restaurant and ate by myself which is something I would always do before. The tough is taking the first steps and motivation but I did it!!! Yay!

This is what I did, too, took small steps toward my goals and celebrated my achievements! You are doing exactly the right things.

Little steps lead to larger steps, be proud of everything that you do, you deserve to pat yourself on your back each time you accomplish something, that others take for granted. Benzo tapering makes you realize just how strong you are. Stay Strong and  Stay Safe. 💖 Peace and Healing. :smitten:

Happy Friday All,

It has been a couple weeks since I last posted in here.  I wanted to stop in an give a quick update.

Last time I stopped in I was at .70mg.  Over half way from where I started.

Now I am working my way down to .5.  That means I will be on 1/3 of my starting dose. :yippee:

Not setting a date for that. Just letting my body lead the way.

I hit a couple rough days the last two. Nothing I couldn't push through just a couple bumpy days. Enough to tell me to slow it down a tad. This afternoon has improved so hoping things are on the upswing.  I am holding a day or so here to let my CNS rest and recoup before moving on. I think it is important to take breathers every now and then in this process.

Still keeping a positive outlook and rolling towards my Benzo free life.

Wishing everyone a peaceful weekend.

Sounds like you are doing pretty well, and coping with things that can get dicey, but we learn as we go. Good plan to hold for a while, your Brain will love you for it. Trust me it is great not having to take a Benzo anymore. Stay Strong and Stay Safe.💖 Peace and Healing. :smitten:

When you taper slowly, do you have morning adrenaline surge?

Hi Jasmine, I only had one morning with adrenaline surge and it went away rather fast.I read eating half of a nut butter sandwich and glass of fresh OJ really has helped some. I know there is another cocktail, but somehow the simpler things are, I think the better. If you want to get more responses to that question about surges if I were you I would start a new thread on Withdrawal support. You are in a good support group Long Hold Support and they are giving you great advise. Stay Strong and Stay Safe. 💖Peace and Healing. :smitten:

Be good, how long were you on valium in total and what was your worst symptom?

I think about 20 years, and during my first two tapers when I jumped I was in total hell, falling, and much more, it was horrible. My third taper, was nothing like my first two, I walked off without problems, minor blips during the whole time tapering. I learned to accept things and just went with the flow and distracted, and it was like night and day. I was never anxious, so that helped, but when I allowed myself to get entwined with my sx, I felt worse, so I just did not feed into it and it worked well for me. Try not to overthink everything, trust that the process will be slow and that others have healed and so will you. Sometimes we have to take a deep breath and just let things be...and things seem to get better. Stay Strong. :smitten:

Thank you begood.

Did you ever developed tolerance, like you needed more to calm down your anxiety?

My worse symptoms is anxiety right now .

How long did it take you to taper 10mg and did you have insomnia?

Did the horrific symptoms from the first 2 attempts came back on the 3rd try?

No, thankfully I did not. Being anxious is hard, but do the best you can when you can. Maybe go and play some of the games here at BB, thinking of other things may help you to relax a bit. I will leave a link for you, http://www.benzobuddies.org/forum/index.php?board=150.0 sometimes we need to do other things so the anxiety does not overtake us and make us feel so bad. You are stronger than you think.  :smitten:

This group sometimes gets quiet and sometimes gets offtrack, but I think it is still important that people see what this group is about and that tapering does not have to be a nightmare. Here's the opening post.

Hi I want to hear from people who've had a fairly easy taper. I need to start thinking more positively.

Thanks

And here are a few of the following posts that are encouraging.

I agree with DonnaQ.  If you listen to your body and go as slow as you need to you will be fine.  My taper is also pretty easy now. I did taper too fast and got very sick but switching to liquid changed everything, and then I slowed down and have been fine ever since.

Good luck to you.

Jenny

My taper was definitely harder at the beginning, doing cut and hold.

Been far easier doing daily liquid taper.

I read posts here every day but don't feel the need to constantly post.

Read the benzo free celebrations and success stories, there are people posting who have only posted a few times during their entire taper.

I have cut out all sugar and coffee.

I eat a very clean fresh food diet. No processed crap.

I don't drink alcohol ( 4 years sober)

I walk 5 miles a day.

I function socialising etc

I meditate daily and anytime I feel sxs I go straight to my breathing and breath deeply and slowly.

My sxs are definitely getting less the lower I go.

Steer clear of the scare stories.

The clue is usually in their sig

Read this success story.

It looks like people are doing good here. I think found the right amount to taper. I'm dry cutting so it's a little harder to get the correct ratio but I found about 5% every two weeks pretty smooth. Day 7 is the hardest but by the next day I feel better. I am 1.3mg v so I still have a ways to go.

You guys inspire me and make it so it's not so scary.

I added the bolding to emphasize what helped these buddies. Would love to hear from other buddies who are doing well now.

Begood

Did you have insomnia when you tapered ?

How long did it take you to taper the 10mg V?

Thank you so much

Yes I had sleep problems, most of us do. It took me 5 years, my choice. Read my progress log, you can click on link below. :)

Worth another look:

I've been tapering from 2 MG klonopin since March 2016.  Had been taking 2 MG for 7 years.  I read lots of research and personal experiences before getting courage to start taper.  I have taken a slow approach and I'm now down to .5 MG.  I have had very few symptoms.  I've been fully functional and haven't had sleeping problems and minimal anxiety.  Some breathing issues like many other people have experienced but it's tolerable.  I do a lot of therapeutic work to keep my mind from catastrophic thinking and obsessing.  So far I've learned to just trust my body.  When I cut back I do it in small increments especially now that I'm down to smaller doses.  I'm so hopeful now that I can be klonopin free.  I'm doing much better than I thought I would be.  I was so terrified to cut back.  There's no rush. Please trust that this can be done without horror and agony.  I'm doing it and you can too.  So far so good.  Will post again when I'm even closer.
