Study, Jun./16: Efficacy & tolerability of antidepressants for children & youth

This meta-analysis of data was done by researchers around the world, and the report appeared recently in The Lancet. The full title is "Comparative efficacy and tolerability of antidepressants for major depressive disorder in children and adolescents: a network meta-analysis". If you've been reading some of the recent articles about these medications, then the conclusions won't surprise you:

"INTERPRETATION: When considering the risk-benefit profile of antidepressants in the acute treatment of major depressive disorder, these drugs do not seem to offer a clear advantage for children and adolescents."
