Prince

Looks like Prince was diagnosed with AIDS 6 months before he died.  I read he refused AIDS treatment because he believed God would heal him and then was preparing to die.  He only weighed 80 lbs. when he died the article also said.  He may have had pneumonia from the AIDS.  I wonder if the painkillers interfered with his pneumonia and stopped his breathing?

Interesting, but can we believe he had AIDS? What sources are there to back up this claim? I would be interested in reading them.

There were too many news articles about it when I googled it up.  Maybe it isn't true and just tabloid stuff?  I sometimes don't know what's legit news and what isn't when I google stuff.  Just wanted to mention it, because it might be true.  Just wondering if anyone read about it?  I guess we might know eventually what happened to him.  I really liked him and want to know the truth about what happened to him.  Just thought I'd mention it to see if others read or heard the same thing?

I have no idea as to what caused Prince’s death. And I do not know for certain if he was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses at the time of his death. But just for the record in view of the following Post:

Me too. And Jehovah's frown about this.

There is more than one reason why one of Jehovah’s Witnesses might have AIDS. So it is not like… “just because you’re a Witness you’re protected from contracting the virus”.

Don’t forget, the Witnesses are not perfect. However, they do work hard to live by the high moral standards from the Bible.

But regardless of how Prince died, it truly is sad that he died at such a young age. I’m only a couple years older than him. Of course, any death at any age will cause grief. None of us would pick a day to die, if we could choose that date!

And Becksblue I am following this topic with interest too...and your Post did prompt me to do a search on the idea that he possibly had AIDS.

Prince seemed to have such a wonderful soul and spirit and I just wish I knew what happened to him.  I don't want him to be forgotten so soon.

Becks I really don't think there is any chance of that happening any time soon.  Apparently he has a vault of thousands of songs and was recording 2 a day.  He was also producing them in music videos.  I don't know if or when we will experience this music but I hope it's sooner than later as he is an incredible one of kind talent. :smitten:

I can tell, you've been profoundly touched by his life and deeply saddened by his passing. I'm sorry Becks.

Did any of his songs provide some of the soundtrack of your life? Can you tell me which ones?

I hope they bring good memories of happier times.

I read that he died of flu. Of course, his immune system would be compromised if he did have AIDS. So flu would be enough to kill him. And he could well have overdosed on over-the-counter drugs if he followed the instructions for an adult but only weighed 80lbs. Very, very sad. RIP.

An article said his personal chef said he had a sore throat.  I think some of his flu and sore throat could be HIV symptoms?  Maybe he had HIV symptoms and overdosed?  No doubt he OD'd when they had to land his plane and take him to the hospital.  He was going to go to rehab, I read, before he died.

Prince's chef did an interview and said Prince wasn't eating or drinking much for weeks before his death and wanted only smoothies and fruit drinks.  His chef said he was a vegetarian and if anyone wanted to eat meat, they'd have to eat it in the parking lot.  None was permitted in his home, I guess.  The chef said he had sore throats and an irritated stomach.  Those are symptoms of AIDS.  Still wondering what happened to him.  No cause of death reported yet.

I saw the other night on the 2016 Rock and Roll hall of fame that Apallonia died this year too. She was known in the 80s for running in the same circles. She was a beauty herself....anyone remember her?

Prince was so talented.  I heard on Dateline he could play 12 instruments.  Read some more reputable news articles, from CNN, Washington Post, and heard it on Fox News on the radio last night, that Prince was supposed to meet with an opioid addictions specialist for a medical emergency the day after he died.  The doc sent his son from California in his stead who flew to Paisley Park to meet with Prince and do an assessment.  The problem is, his son isn't a doctor, and I read he took some other medication to give Prince, to help him with his opioid problem.  He and some of Princes' staff are the ones who found him dead in the elevator.  This addiction specialist's son is the one who made the 911 call.  I thought it was odd he didn't know the address when he called, so that explains that.  There is a criminal investigation going on now.  This sounds like opioid complications and accidental overdose maybe.  I wonder if the opioids were causing him severe tolerance withdrawal problems and maybe he tried to get off them on his own and couldn't?  The news said they found prescription opioids on his person when they found him dead in the elevator.  This is beyond sad.  We all trusted our medical docs and Big Pharma to help us and this is what happens to us and Prince.  These drugs work so well when you first start taking them and then after time they injure and destroy the body.  No wonder famous psychiatrist, Dr. Peter Breggin, never prescribes head meds to any of his patients.  My next door nabe told me his wife is now in the psych ward of a hospital and being put on head meds and is hallucinating.  I knew she was delusional all these years and not taking psych. meds, but I tried to support her when she had her delusional cycles.  I'm afraid of what all these drugs will do to her, too?  So many ppl. being injured and killed from these Big Pharma drugs.

Also on the 2016 Rock and Roll hall of fame Kid Rock jokingly told kids not to take drugs. Then he said but if you do, theres a good chance they might end up there. Being inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame....hmmmm....

Was he joking with Prince in mind? If so his joke was in poor taste. I highly doubt Prince had an addiction problem with opiods…sounds like he was most likely suffering from extreme chronic pain that was disabling and consequently warranted he take prescription pain meds.

I’m not sure who you are agreeing with, but I DO agree there is an illicit drug problem in the United States…I grew up in the thick of it in the 70’s and I regret my poor choices that steered me toward the precipice of a cliff. Fortunately I survived.

That drug problem is still going strong today…sadly!! And I do feel lack of positive parental guidance is a HUGE factor in this ongoing problem.

Oh yes, I agree. That joke was in poor taste. I mean to say he was making light of a serious problem. Its hard posting sometimes what your trying to say doesnt come out quite right....maybe I need to use more emojis as I can be sarcastic at times....sorry for the confusion.....

I understand :)…trying to talk by way of Internet posts can cause confusion given this type of setting. But interestingly communication can be challenging even when done face to face.

Either way…by Internet posts or in person….I strongly feel open/honest communication is critical. How in the world will we know what is on each others minds otherwise??

We all come from different backgrounds so there is bound to be a variety of thoughts…I love that thought, though, since that’s how we learn.
