Excellent article Bigbangfan!!!!  Thank-you so much for posting it.  Great info and glad to see a few medical professionals who get  what damage these drugs can do.  So sad that these drugs "routinely topped the list of most prescribed and profitable drugs...$509 million in 2013"...ugh, that's bad news.  Couldn't believe what the one doctor said about about patients with insomnia:  "... it's so much easier to write the prescription than to have a long conversation about the risks and benefits of the sleep medicine..."  Really??!!!  How bout another appointment doc?  Whatever happened to "do no harm"? 

It isn't a perfect article but it is a lot closer to hitting the mark than many benzo articles have been in the past. It is encouraging to see that people are starting to get it.

Thanks so much for posting this.  I am thinking about printing it off and giving it to my doctors.

Somehow I saw this awhile back.  I wish I could say that we're more enlightened here in Oregon since this article came out in the Bend Bullten, but that hardly seems to be the case.
