AVOCADO

avocado-sliced-in-half.jpg

Avocados contain glutathione which helps healing and also contain more potassium than a banana, avocado also helps to lower high cholesterol and high triglycerides, they contain healthy fats and are water dense so are hydrating also.

Avocados contain many vitamins and minerals and are good for detoxifying the liver.

Apparently it's really good for hydration, so I will get some and if I like it I will stock it over the summer.

I just had a large avocado, drizzled with extra virgin olive oil, lemon juice and a cup of cooked chickpeas and seasoned with Himalayan pink salt and black pepper for a afternoon snack, it was delicious.  ;D

I am going brown rice heavy from tomorrow, it's packed with magnesium and I intend to eat it at least once a day, whether it be a lunch or dinner or snack food.

Also going heavy on chickpeas as they are low in glutamate and healthy.

Upping my salads from now on also.

Hi Oscar,  celery and courgettes, lettuce I use to eat this vegetable before but I read in one of the post here in BB that cruciferous vegetable can revs up withrawal sx that's why I stop eating this vegetables. But now that I saw your post, thinking to consume again. Just a little bit confuse about different info. I know everyone's case are different reaction to our body.  Regards. Mcm

Hi Mcm,

I know about the cruciferous vegetable deal also, celery and courgettes are fine, it's really just cabbage, spinach, Brussels sprouts and  broccoli I stay away from, basically leafy greens that one would shove into a blender to make a "detox green smoothie"... I do not class celery or courgettes or green beans as risky green foods, lettuce isn't madly detoxing as far as I know.

Oscar

PS:

Check this page out, seems spinach is OK but I would consider that too potent whilst tapering, so I avoid it for that reason:

Thanks, Oscar, I love this thread. :smitten:

I am working hard for the next 2 weeks to try and help myself and my benzobuddies with diet, I know many of us know all this any way, or a lot of it but I just want to share all I learn, I researched all this 4 years ago but now I am on a refresher course on the net and I am trying to compile a list of the very best foods we can eat, taking into account the fact that most of us are tapering and need to avoid certain foods such as cruciferous vegetables, you will see dark leafy greens on lists but these are only really advisable once a taper is finished as they are too detoxing to consume whilst tapering, although some people choose to eat these foods, it's really all a matter of choice at the end of the day, same as with sugar and alcohol I guess.

;)

I am glad you like the thread any way, it's giving me something to focus on and I hope we all get something out of this thread.

I am all for help and opinions and recipe's here.  ;D

I am going to rope Moodle in to post some wicked salad recipe's for us all when she can.  8);D
