Kindling due to substance withdrawal, refers to the neurological condition which results from repeated withdrawal episodes from sedative-hypnotic drugs such as alcohol or benzodiazepines. Each withdrawal leads to more severe withdrawal symptoms than the previous withdrawal syndrome.

 

So, the second or third time around, coming off benzodiazepines , can be more challenging than the first.

CAN... Be more challenging.

I believe it also applies to any medication that messes with your brain chemistry i.e. Antidepressants/Mood Stabilizers/Anti-Pychotics; in short, any psych med(s).

but don't worry / those which got this hell of the ride

know very well the meaning

of walking couple of extra miles in life

Please keep in mind that the evidence for kindling in benzodiazepine use/withdrawal is still relatively week compared to alcohol.
