143 Days Klonopin-Free Anniversary!

[gu...]

Recommended Posts

I am now 143 days clean and sober.....no benzos, no pain pills, no muscle relaxers. (what a bore)

Update: I was in a rush this morning and didn't provide any details...........

Symptoms: Mostly gone, a little anxiety occasionally but nothing I can't beat down.

Weight: Gained most of the weight back that I lost (I'm 5'11" and was down to 149 lbs.) I need to try that Klondyke diet I've been pushing....doctor heal thyself.

Hair: I think it has stopped falling out and is growning back (maybe I'll spread some of that eyelash stuff on my head.)

Overall, I'm doing quite well, thank you. I'm dying for an ice cold beer, though.

Unfortunately, I still have the back problems that originally led me to Klonopinland. But the good news is I have an appointment to see a renowned specialist at Shand's Teaching Hospital in Gainesville, Florida July 2nd for an intensive evaluation.

Congrats on being 90 days benzo free. Now that is my kind of boring. :)  BTW, you did say one klondike bar per klonopin reduction right?  I'll be 30 lbs. heavier by the time I am off this stuff. ;D

Right, then I'll tell you about using Klonopin to reduce Klondyke weight (it's a vicious circle)

Congratulations Bob!!  :yippee:

A 'boring' life can be quite pleasant and relaxing, depending on one's perspective.  I think most of us have had enough turmoil that we'd enjoy a slower pace.

Good Luck at your appointment.

Go BOB Go!!! woot woot!!!!

"woot woot" ?? ??  Must be a New York skater expression. Down here we say "yeehaw" and "Damn Straight", then chug a beer. Either way, I'm happy to be off the sh** :D

Well, good news and bad news. The good news is that I don't have any serious disc problems that need operating on. The bad news is I'm only 52 and I have bad arthritis in my spine and there's nothing they can do for it. He guesses that the pain I have in my legs, butt, and back is referred pain. He suggested maybe Pilates to strengthen my core as a possible help, but otherwise no treatment, other than pain meds to help during the bad times. So I will do the Pilates, look at my diet, supplements, and alternative therapies (magnets?).

Good luck with the guitar. I have been playing for 40 years, and my finger calluses are so built up I no longer feel the strings. My hands ache sometimes, though. I am hoping to put some stuff up on myspace or youtube, but can't really figure out how to do it. Too lazy to learn the technology.

Hello Bob, just thought I would let you know I use magnets. My chiropractor introduced me to them years ago. I was so impressed by the results, I sleep on a mattress pad and have a pad for my lower back. They really do help you just be sure you get the strongest you can.  I have even used them on newborn pups that have colic and as soon as I lay them on the pad they stop crying..

Bob, have you ever tried Glucosamine?  I've found it helps a great deal.  My dr. recommends a daily dose of 1,500 mgs and if my pain flares I take more.

I started taking it years ago and stopped when all this started, I should have continued it but was scared to but now I'm back to taking it with no ill effects.  I think if I had continued taking I wouldn't have some of the joint problems I have now.  :-\

I would love to see your work on youtube.  :)

Dear GB:

Thanks for posting your success story.  Glad to hear that you are not feeling too many lingering effects.  I, too, found K to be great for back pain.  Unfortunately, it was catastrophic for the rest of my life.  Klondike bars now, are great for everything.

*********UPDATE*************

Day # 143. I just got back from a short vacation and everything went very well. Went out to dinner every night, had a couple of cold beers everyday, 2 cups of strong coffee every morning, hung around the pool and jacuzzi, fooled around with the maid, oops, wife....and just had a great time. Just like the old pre-K days. God, it felt great!  EVERYONE....GET WELL SOON!!
