FDA Petition Denied - Comments Needed

This is a recent FDA petition that denied. It asked for more controls and protections for benzo patients and prescribing. Here is a link to comment to the FDAs decision.

I remember signing this a couple of years ago, even printed it to show to my doctor.  I always wondered why it didn't get more than a mere 500 or so sigs.

I can't seem to download the denial document, why was it denied

(in a nutshell)?

looks like David versus Goliath...

We need to pummel them with comments, even short ones axing why the decision was made. They need to know the effected population. They need to hear us loud and clear.

That's a well written and well though through petition (although I did think several of the references went back too many years to be relevant to the present).  The care and consideration shown by the FDA in their reply is also very good. 

 

Although the changes requested were turned down, the petition has succeeded in making the FDA look carefully at benzo labeling and keep these matters under reveiw.  Well done. 

I signed, and once again I wrote a nasty comment about the FDA, despite the fact they tried to placate us. Words are far easier than action....
