[La...]
This is a small study from Quebec, Canada. Unfortunately, I don't have access to the full study, but this abstract highlights some important points. Here are a few pertinent statements: "General practitioners should be better trained regarding geriatric psychosocial issues and offer alternatives to prescribe psychotropic drugs such as cognitive behavior therapy for insomnia. Also, as a society, we should reconsider the highly medicalized stance we take to compensate for age-related losses. The influential role of the pharmaceutical industry in the process is discussed." [La...]
Some positive movement, right? I know it's just a small study but at least it seems to be moving in the right direction.
