2014 Study: Benzodiazepines and Z-drugs linked to increased risk of mortality

Here are three versions of a study that came out earlier this year linking benzodiazepines and Z-drugs to an increased risk of death. There's a Science Daily article, plus an abridged online version (HCP Online) plus the full article from the British Medical Journal. There are stated limitations to the study (eg. confounding variables) but it's hard to avoid coming to the conclusion that these drugs carry many, many risks.
