Good Days Positive Mood Supplement

[sy...]

Recommended Posts

I went to GNC the other day to buy Calms forte but walked out with Good Days Positive Mood instead. Ingredients: L-Theanine, Magnolia Bark Extract, 5-HTP, Panax Ginseng and Rhodiola Rose. This supplement was developed by Lucinda Bassett (creator of the Attacking Anxiety and Depression Program).

Has anyone tried this supplement or its components?

I have tried L-Theanine,  5-HTP,  and Rhodiola Rose individually.  I tried them during my worst times and would say that I "think" they helped.

Magnolia Bark Extract, often called honokiol & magnolol, works on the GABA receptors in the brain.

This would probably be something you'd want to avoid if tapering off benzos.

I believe they aggravate/prolong withdrawal symptoms since they work on the same receptor as benzos.

Perhaps one of the older members here could confirm?

It does interfere with the GABA receptors, as does Valerian, so it could aggravate your w/d symptoms, as could almost any supplement. However, the action on the receptor is different, so it's not going to slow down the healing process.
